Two Golds for Rule 5 at Pride 2019

For the third successive year, Rule 5 has taken home gold at the 2019 CIPR PRide Awards on Friday 29th November.

The agency’s work with Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester won gold in two categories; Low Budget Campaign and Best Use of Media Relations. The agency sealed a hat trick of awards as the campaign was also recognised in the Travel, Leisure or Tourism category, being awarded silver.  The Awards, hosted by Jenny Powell, took place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

Since launching in 2012, the agency has been awarded for its work every year also picking up a PRCA Dare Award earlier this year.

Commenting on the win, Rule 5 Managing Partner, Rob Brown, said: “By chance Friday night was also the agency’s seventh birthday so it was a great way to celebrate. This year we’ve won our highest tally of awards plus number of really exciting new clients.”

The CIPR PRide Awards is an annual industry event recognising outstanding work in public relations. Judged by experienced PR professionals, the winners were announced at a black tie dinner at The Midland Hotel, Manchester.

Following the recent award win at the PRCA Dare Awards, Rule 5 has been nominated for four more awards at the upcoming 2019 CIPR PRide Awards.  The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) is the trade association for the public relations sector in the UK and the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is the professional body for public relations practitioners.

Based in MediaCityUK, the agency’s work with the ‘Legoland Discovery Centre’ has been recognised in the Low Budget Campaign and the Travel, Leisure or Tourism category . The agency has also been nominated for Best Use of Media Relations and as Small Consultancy of the Year. 

The CIPR PRide Award nominations come hot on the heels of a win at the PRCA Dare Awards, with Rule 5 recieving the award for Charity/Not for Profit for their work with giving platform Wonderful.org. Since Rule 5 launched in 2012, the agency won awards every year.

The CIPR PRide awards will take place on 29 November 2019 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

2019 is the seventh consecutive year that Rule 5 has been recognised in industry awards.

Rule 5 Lands Five Awards Nominations

IMG_5803Rule 5 has just picked up a total of five award nominations from the PR industry’s two professional bodies.

Earlier this month, the agency was nominated in the national Chartered Institute of Excellence (CIPR) awards. Over the Easter weekend, the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) DARE Awards were unveiled and Rule 5 received four nominations, including ‘Outstanding Small Consultancy’.

The agency’s work with online giving platform Wonderful.org has been recognised in both award schemes with a campaign for Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester  nominated by the PRCA.

The CIPR Excellence Awards will be unveiled on 25 June 2019 at The Artillery Garden in London.  The PRCA Dare Awards will be announced three weeks later at the Radisson Blu Edwardian in Manchester.

Rule 5 has been nominated four times in the 2019 PRmoment Awards.

The news sees the agency shortlisted in four classes, including the coveted Boutique Agency of the Year category.

The agency’s campaign for Legoland Discovery Centre Manchester, Northern Rail Newsjack, made the Best Stunt of the Year shortlist, with the agency’s work with charity giving platform Wonderful nominated in two categories – The Corporate Purpose Award and Not For Profit Campaign of the Year, Agency.

Agency co-founder Julie Wilson said on the news: “This is a fantastic achievement for the agency and represents the breadth of our work.  The PRmoment Awards are one of the industry’s most celebrated events and we’re delighted to be nominated.”

The PRmoment Awards celebrate excellence and recognise and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the UK PR and Communications sector.  The results will be announced on March 13th at a black tie awards dinner at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester.

 

Three Golds for Rule 5 at PRide 2018

Rule 5 took home three gold awards at the 2018 CIPR PRide Awards last night (Wednesday 7 November). The tally was the highest of the night.

The agency’s work with the charity giving platform Wonderful won gold in two categories; Best Community Relations Campaign and also in the Not-for-Profit Campaign.

For the second year in succession, the agency took home a gold award for its work with Blackpool Pleasure Beach this time in the Travel, Leisure or Tourism Category.

The CIPR PRide Awards which recognise outstanding public relations were announced at a black tie awards dinner at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.

The agency is thrilled to have been shortlisted in the 2018 Prolific North Awards.

The nomination for PR Agency of The Year (small agency category) was announced on Thursday April 12 and sees Rule 5 feature alongside some of the North’s best creative, production, digital and media companies.

Founded in 2013, the Prolific North Awards celebrate excellence and recognise and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the creative and media industries across the North.

The results will be announced on May 24th at an exclusive awards ceremony at the Principal Hotel, Manchester.

Hat-trick Win For Rule 5 at CIPR PRide Awards

Rule 5 scooped the coveted award for Best Use of Media Relations at last night’s  prestigious CIPR PRide North West Awards.

The gold accolade for our work with Blackpool Pleasure Beach recognised the outstanding results achieved for ‘An Icon is Born, a campaign unveiling the name of the leading amusement park’s much-anticipated new £16.25m rollercoaster, due to launch in Spring 2018.

Judges said: “This was an innovative campaign that took the difficult scenario of nothing to show and used multi-media and motion graphics to enhance media content and gain a huge amount of quality media attention in the build up to a new rollercoaster ride being ready for launch. A very effective use of the budget and clear measurable results on media coverage.”

It was one of a hat-trick of achievements for Rule 5 with the agency’s work with premium cycling brand Fat Lad At The Back also recognised in the Best Community Relations and Best Sport, Art and Culture categories.  Both saw the agency presented with silver awards.

Speaking on the success Rule 5 Founding Director Jules Wilson said:  “We’re incredibly proud of the work we deliver for our clients.   To have that work recognised by your industry peers is however fantastic.  The calibre of entries shortlisted this year was exceptionally high and we’re thrilled to have received three accolades.”

Rule 5 Enjoys Global Recognition in The Drum Network Awards

The agency is thrilled to have been nominated in The Drum Network Awards.

The shortlist, announced today (Wednesday October 25), sees Rule 5 recognised in the Best Leisure and Tourism Campaign category for its work with Blackpool Pleasure Beach. 

The nominated campaign, An Icon is Born, saw the name of the amusement park’s much anticipated new £16.25m rollercoaster, ICON, unveiled to the press, and commanded headlines nationwide.

Speaking on the nomination, Rule 5 Founding Director Jules Wilson said: “Our smiles say it all, we’re absolutely over the moon to feature.  The campaign was a fantastic team effort and it’s brilliant to see the hard work of everyone involved acknowledged, not just here in the UK but on a global platform too.”

The Drum Network Awards recognise excellent marketing and strategic work created by agencies around the world, rewarding agencies who push the boundaries and demonstrate impressive growth despite uncertain times.

The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square on November 28.

It is the fourth awards nomination for the campaign this year, with Rule 5 and Blackpool Pleasure Beach also nominated in the Northern Marketing Awards and the CIPR PRide Awards (x2).

The agency is thrilled to have been shortlisted six times in the 2017 CIPR PRide Awards.

The news, announced today, sees Rule 5 nominated in five categories including Best Community Relations, Arts Culture & Sport (x2) and Social Media. The agency is also recognised in the hotly contested Consumer Relations and Media Relations categories.

Rule 5 Highly Commended At Prolific North Awards

We were thrilled to receive a ‘Highly Commended’ at last night’s Prolific North Awards.

The accolade, in the Digital / Social Media Campaign of the Year category, was awarded for our work with British Cycling on the UCI Track Cycling World Championships.  The campaign – Halfway to a Billion, Taking Track Cycling to the World – for the biggest ever UK track cycling event, delivered an astonishing 451 million impressions on social channels.

The campaign was pipped to the post by the Foo Fighters Headlining Glastonbury Announcement, delivered by Modern English.  The award was one of only three ‘Highly Commended’ accolades presented on the evening.

Speaking on the event Rule 5 Managing Partner Rob Brown said: “We’re over the moon to receive a ‘Highly Commended’ for our work on the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, losing out only to Modern English and their campaign for the Foo Fighters; and I bloody love the Foo Fighters.”

The Prolific North Awards celebrate excellence and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the creative and media sectors in the North.  This year’s event was the biggest to date and saw over 800 entries.

 

 

Best Social at the 2017 PRmoment Awards

Rule 5 took the Social Media Campaign of the Year Award at the 2017 PRmoment Awards earlier this month.  The winning campaign was ‘Half Way to a Billion – Taking Track Cycling to the World’.  It documented the social media campaign for the 2016 Track Cycling World Championships in London. It was the biggest track cycling event in the modern era. In terms of spectators, competitors and number of races it would be on a larger scale than the track cycling at London 2012 Olympic Games.  Rule 5 delivered a social and digital campaign reaching a global audience with 451 million impressions on social channels.

In the last six years the PRmoment Awards have become a fixed date in the UK PR calendar with over 850 entries and over 1,000 guests.  The entries are subject to independent expert judging by senior in-house and agency communications professionals.

Rule 5 Named Outstanding Small Consultancy

Team Final Crop 2The agency has been crowned Outstanding Small Consultancy of the Year at the 2016 PRCA DARE Awards.

The hotly contested category is open to any consultancy with up to 10 members of staff and this year six agencies were shortlisted.  Financial performance, staff and client retention/acquisition, innovation and creativity are just some of the pillars on which the category is judged.

Adding to the evening’s success, the agency’s founding partner Rob Brown was named Industry Leader of the Year.   The award is in recognition of Rob’s significant contribution to the industry and Rule 5. Speaking on the wins the agency’s founding director Julie Wilson said:  “Since the launch of Rule 5 in November 2012 our ambition has been to build the very best team we can and deliver consistently exceptional work.  We’re thrilled to see this recognised by one of the UK’s leading governing bodies as well as our industry peers.”

Shortlisted campaigns include the 2016 UCI Track Cycling World Championships, the launch of the North West’s most anticipated restaurant, El Gato Negro, and our work with Want That Trend, a rapidly growing fashion e-tailer.
